Bang & Olufsen has been making its presence known in the industry. Their portable speakers are always so pleasant to the eyes and ears. Aside from the design, their speakers are easy to carry, and their Beosound Balance is just as convenient to have.
The Beosound Balance has a convenient size with good materials used so that it’s comfortable to bring around with you anywhere you go. To produce the Beosound Balance, the company collaborated with Benjamin Hubert from the British Design Agency Layer. If you’re curious about the Beosound Balance, a review is below this. Hopefully, it’ll help you decide whether you should get one or not–especially if you’re looking for a portable speaker in the market.
Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance: DESIGN
The Beosound Balance looks like a can of soda. It’s a bit thicker, though, and has a circular stand, so it maintains its balance. The speaker is only 38cm tall, with its entire body is covered in knitted cloth while its base is oakwood. On top of the speaker is where you’ll find the buttons for play/pause, power, and control for changing tracks. To change the volume, though, you can swipe around on the speaker’s top to do that–which is a pretty nice trick added to their Beosound Balance.
The upper body of the Beosound Balance speaker houses a downward-firing bass driver, two tweeters, and three midrange drivers. The base, on the other hand, houses an upward-firing bass driver.
Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance: FEATURES
Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound Balance has pretty cool features. The speaker can detect if you’re nearby because it lights up when you approach it. If you step away, the light slowly dissipates. Aside from that, the Beosound Balance also features Voice Assistant Technology that we find impressive. The speaker can hear you even when you’re far away. You won’t need to shout for your voice to reach the Beosound Balance speaker unless you’re streaming really loud music with it. Yes, you can use Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa with this speaker. You can also mute your mic if you don’t want the AI assistants to hear you avoid disturbing you.
The Beosound Balance’s Bluetooth Connectivity is the 5.0 version. So, even when you’re able to pair with the speaker through Wi-Fi, you can still be confident with its seamless pairing through Bluetooth.
For iOS devices, the Beosound Balance supports AirPlay 2, letting you stream and use multi-room, as well as accessing Siri. The speaker also supports Spotify Connect, making it easier to stream your favourite songs.
Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance: SOUND QUALITY
The Beosound Balance’s sound quality gets creative. You can easily toggle with the speaker’s settings through its app. You can adjust the speaker’s direction, so it doesn’t sacrifice the audio when you pin the speaker against the wall–being that it’s a 360-degree speaker.
When the speaker is sitting in the middle of the room, though, you can expect that its audio quality will blow you away. Despite its size, the Beosound Balance packs a powerful punch with a good combination of its bass and treble. It’s also possible to tweak the speaker’s EQ Settings if you feel a need to adjust the bass’s thickness and the treble’s response.
Answering calls with the speaker is fun because not only does it feel as if the caller is using a mic, they can hear you even when you’re far away. The speaker does a pretty good job relaying the call’s audio to you without delay or signs of distortion. So you can peacefully carry on with what you’re doing while you’re answering a call. In a way, Beosound Balance’s mic is convenient.
Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance: PRICE
As usual, Bang & Olufsen’s best portable speakers always cost an arm and a leg–the Beosound Balance is no exception. The Beosound Balance costs $2,250 on Amazon and comes in two colours–black and grey.
Bang & Olufsen Beosound Balance: VERDICT
The Beosound Balance Speaker’s features are unique compared to other speakers. If you feel you should have that feature where the speaker lights up when you’re near, you’ll love the Beosound Balance. Of course, the sound quality is excellent, so that’s a win-win for you if you’re an avid fan of the Bang & Olufsen brand. But for others, some cheaper speakers may not have all the features the Beosound Balance does, but sufficient enough to be considered. Either way, as long as it’s within your preferences, it’s worth buying!
