Sonos is one of the many brands people go to for multi-room audio, especially for music and movie enthusiasts. Even among a pack of lions, there always have to be the best, if not one, then perhaps five. Our job here is to give you those five best Sonos Wireless Speakers that hopefully suit what you’re looking for.

Sonos’ creation was way back in 2002 in California and has been getting good feedback here and there, setting up quite a high bar for other brands to meet. The brand’s goal is to provide the best quality of speakers with the right comfort for the consumers. Suffice to say, the Sonos company never once failed to do so. With changing times, Sonos adjusted and manufactured even better speakers to match the tide. Here are a few Sonos speakers you might want to know about.

How we picked and how we tested

There were surveys here and there and collecting the different models of Sonos speakers to test that garnered more positive feedback than negative ones. Because let’s face it, there’s no such thing as purely positive feedback. So, of course, we made sure to test the quality and see whether the advertisements did them justice.

Who this is for

Sonos is mainly for everyone as the company focuses on the majority of the consumers’ needs. If you watch movies or are a music enthusiast, Sonos speakers will satisfy your cravings.

Top Five Best Sonos Wireless Speakers 2021

Sonos One: The All-Rounder

Costing $219, Sonos One sweeps the market up with a storm with its remarkable features and sound quality to boot. With Google Assistant and Alexa in tow, Sonos One provides comfort and convenience like no other. While it’s good to have these AI to make everything easier, especially when picking songs or asking about the weather through sheer voice command, there could be more the speaker has to offer.

The Sonos One has a compact design that doesn’t immediately get old with time. It is small enough to fit in small spaces such as your bedroom side table or your TV stand. Despite its size, the sound is remarkably loud and thick, swallowing the entire room. You can find the controls for pause/play, the power button, and the volume controls on the topmost part of the speaker. The speaker is also available in two colors: black and white.

Sonos Roam

A bit taller and slightly slender than the Sonos One, Sonos Roam is a portable speaker for traveling and other outdoor activities. The speaker also boasts an IP67 water resistance rate with 10 hours of battery life to boot, making it appealing to outdoor people looking for the best speakers to accompany their travels. The speaker is a little expensive, though, not as expensive as the Sonos One. In the UK, the Sonos Roam costs about $179 and is available in black and white.

The sound quality is good, with the right balance between bass and treble. There’s no hint of distortion or static noise when the volume is higher than normal. Aside from that, Sonos Roam also promises seamless pairing with no audio delay with its 5.0 Bluetooth connectivity.

Sonos Move

Another Sonos with good Bluetooth connectivity that you can carry around everywhere you go—that is, if you’re comfortable with the speaker’s weight. This speaker is best suitable for outdoor parties such as a backyard BBQ grill with neighbors or friends. Despite its size, the speaker’s sound is quite loud and bold, reaching the backyard when we tested it in one of the experts’ homes. We set the speaker in the living room, amped it up to its highest volume, and needless to say, Sonos Move did not disappoint. There was no hint of distortion or thinning bass and treble the higher the volume got. It only made the sound more powerful and solid.

The Sonos Move has more battery than Sonos Roam, about 11 hours, depending on how you use it. The speaker also promises a seamless connection with its 5.0 Bluetooth connectivity.

Sonos One SL

Sonos One SL is more or less a basic speaker for starters. It is affordable and has great sound, though not as impressive as the previous models. It doesn’t have Smart Assistants like Google and Alexa, but its controls are on the topmost part. You can toggle with pause/play, volume, and the switch. What’s great about the Sonos One is that you can easily pair it with another speaker of the same kind, bringing you twice as loud and solid sound quality wherever you are at home.

You can pair the Sonos One SL with any device, such as Android and iOS. For iOS, you get to use the AirPlay 2, which is quite convenient for its price.

Sonos Beam Soundbar

The Sonos Beam Soundbar is ideal for movie enthusiasts. There is nothing like a better night with Netflix than with the Sonos Beam Soundbar to wrap the entire room with its solid sound. It costs about $519 and is available in two colors: black and white.

The soundbar’s length is a good 26.5 inches, ensuring neat placement without worrying whether it would fall off or not. You can mount the speaker on the wall or place it on the TV stand. The speaker also boasts easy controls such as voice control, remote, and even Sonos app. With the app’s help, you can play around a bit with the speaker’s EQ settings to set it according to your preferences. Not only that, but you can also pair the speaker with another Sonos speaker as long as it is detectable by the Sonos app. Note that although the Sonos Beam Soundbar promises no audio delay, there’s still a possibility of it occurring as it depends on the host device and other file factors. There wasn’t any audio delay on Netflix, though, it’s safe to assume that your Wi-Fi could also play a role in the audio delay.

Here are some questions we get from consumers with the best answers. We hope that this helps clear your confusion if you have one, as well.

How does Sonos work?

For Sonos, the brand has an app that can detect other Sonos speakers in the area as long as the speaker has the feature. Because of this, you can pair at least one more speaker to the one you have, so you get double the fun. Of course, the battery plays a major role in this, but some Sonos speakers are still usable while charging.

Which Sonos speaker should I buy?

That solely depends on what your purpose for it is. If you want to watch movies with a great speaker that can also stream music with good sound quality, you can opt for the Sonos Soundbar. Note that there is a Sonos Soundbar that needs an outlet, and there is a Sonos Soundbar that is wireless and only requires Bluetooth to function. If you like traveling and want the best speaker companion, you can opt for the Sonos Roam or Sonos Move as both speakers are portable.

Sonos has lived up to its purpose as a multi-function speaker suitable for your home and personal interests. Buying one may be a little tricky, but as long as you keep in mind why you are looking for one in the first place, it’ll help you narrow it down to at least two or three options.
